WASHAKIE A BIG CHANCE IN ID10 GRAND FINAL 

JOHN MCCARTHY was playing coy leading into Sunday's $1million Watpac Inter Dominion Grand Final.
He knows he's got the draw to win the big one having come up with the pole for his gun pacer, Washakie.
He knows his horse has the necessary speed to lead and hold the front, if he so desires.
And while his opposition are also aware of this, McCarthy wasn't divulging any pre-race driving tactics when contacted on Tuesday morning.
"I've got a good barrier and I intend to use it, that's all I'll say on that," he said.

Karloo Mick Inter


KARLOO MICK READY TO STEP UP 

NEW SOUTH WALES star Karloo Mick has drawn well in the opening heat for Watpac ID10 at Harold Park this Friday night.
The 'Dubbo Destroyer' has come up with gate three for his assignment in a heat that also contains New Zealand Cup winner Changeover and defending Inter Dominion champion, Mr Feelgood.
Trainer Barry Lew, heading into his fourth Inter series with his stable star, said it was difficult to assess whether or not the nine-year-old's preparation is just as good, if not better, than previous' years.

Lights On At Menangle


GOLDEN MILE TO HIGHLIGHT TABCORP PARK MENANGLE MEETING 

THE much anticipated moment has finally arrived and another piece of New South Wales harness racing history will be achieved tomorrow night at Tabcorp Park Menangle.
Having originally aimed for a January launch, the NSW Harness Racing Club will achieve their objective of turning on the new state-of-the-art lighting system at the facility this Friday.

4YO Championship 'a bottler'


VISITORS' draws have certainly been the order of the day for raiders competing in tomorrow night's Four-Year-Old Championship at Gloucester Park.
The three 'outsiders' will be required to overcome awkward barriers, while leading local hope, Ima Rocket Star, is poised to enjoy a dream passage early.
The Greg Bond-trained gelding will begin from the coveted pole, as opposed to New Zealand representative, Stunin Cullen, which has gate eight for trainer Tim Butt.
Victorian pair, Bonavista Bay and Captain Joy, are set to start from the two outside barriers along the second row.
